boot into ghost: the recovery partition can be accessed without problemsĪs you can see, the only problem is the nonstandard partition type (db) for the recovery partition.and the MBR changed. A week ago on laptops that had an OEM image installed on it, HP applications started to get update and new software has been installed, which is HP Wolf Security.change the partition type to VFAT LBA using Linux, as described above. The partition must be created using NT recovery, 'cause the recovery utility doesn't work, if it finds an unexpected partition table. After recovery, the utility resets the partition type and the active partition BTW, Ctrl+F11 doesn't work afterwards. The reboot gets you into the DELL recovery utility. set the partition type of the utility partition to c (VFAT LBA).start the partition editor: fdisk /dev/hda.A disk image can be saved with no problems.
All drivers and updates have been installed.
I am running Windows 7 pro 64 bit with a fresh install of Windows. Over the years I have purchased many versions of Ghost and have grown to depend on it.
You can follow the help from here, or download the Ghost v8.0 help PDF from Symantec for directions on how to restore the image. Problem is that I use a backup software (GoodSync) that mounts an SMB access point each evening to backup some stuff. If I turn it off, NIS will complain to fix the settings and turn it on. Now in the Control Panel Network section, there is a service called 'Norton Security'. There was no program available on the system that would copy the Restore partition to a CD/DVD. Hi, I just reformatted my MacBook Pro for a clean Big Sur installation. The restore partition was still present on the drive, just not accessible via CTRL F11. I accidentally modified the MBR on the drive, which broke the CTRL F11. This procedure worked on an Inspiron 1150 that was delivered on 11/16/04.
